Ernesto Andrade: The Intersection of Plastic Surgery and Art
Plastic surgeon Ernesto Andrade recently won the León Hernández Award from the Colombian Society of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery for his contributions to abdominoplasty, an effective procedure for reducing the abdomen with minimal pain, quick recovery, and high acceptance and demand. Dr. Andrade is a man very confident in his work. Perhaps that’s why he had never been motivated to participate in competitions within his profession, but the insistence of his students led him to apply for the León Hernández Award. When he won, he was surprised. He didn’t expect his first submission to a competition to result in a win.
