For this reason, a group of Colombian and American surgeons and investors decided to embark on the project of creating improved implants that could compete internationally. This led to the creation of Silicone Implants for Medical Appliance (Sima), which, despite its international-sounding name, is located in the free trade zone of Bogotá.
