Endoscopic Forehead Lift (Forehead Surgery)
What is an Endoscopic Forehead Lift?
Forehead surgery, also known as an endoscopic forehead lift, is a facial rejuvenation procedure performed using high-tech endoscopic surgery. This technique involves a cable-shaped device with a small camera connected to a screen (endoscope), allowing the surgery to be performed with minimal scalp incisions. The forehead and eyebrows are lifted while expression lines on the forehead and around the eyes are smoothed. This procedure rejuvenates the upper and mid-face by repositioning tissues that have sagged or wrinkled due to aging, genetics, or individual facial structure.

Procedure
The endoscopic forehead lift is performed through small incisions hidden within the hairline in the frontal and/or temporal regions. Using an endoscope that magnifies the image up to 32 times its normal size, the skin in the forehead area is lifted to reposition the tissues of the forehead, eyebrows, and periorbital region. Depending on the patient’s needs, it can also address the cheekbone area. During this process, nerve and vascular structures are carefully protected to avoid damage, which can occur with other surgical techniques.
The repositioned tissues are secured using innovative absorbable implants fixed directly to the bone or fascia (Endotine® by Coapt Systems, Inc.). The small incisions are closed with metal staples, and the area is protected with micropore dressings. This outpatient procedure is performed under general anesthesia.

Frequently Asked Questions
An endoscopic forehead lift can be combined with other surgical procedures such as blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, mentoplasty, and cervicoplasty, optimizing results and achieving full facial rejuvenation.
Additionally, it is an opportunity to refresh and revitalize the skin with laser treatments that reduce pores, lighten dark spots, and tone the skin, improving its overall appearance. After surgery, aesthetic medical treatments such as Exilis Face and Resurfacing can enhance the results.
The recovery period lasts approximately 10 days, allowing for a smoother healing process. After this period, bandages and staples are removed.
Results are immediately visible, though swelling gradually subsides over 2 to 3 weeks. During the first 48 hours post-surgery, intermittent cold therapy is recommended for 5 minutes every 20 to 30 minutes (using ice wrapped in a thick cloth or bag to avoid direct skin contact). In the following days, frequent heat therapy is advised, especially to help reduce bruising (ecchymosis).
